Sisters

I have to admit. I did not think this photo session was funny at the time :) Again, I had about 60 seconds to try to get a cute shot of them (we were on our way to Braden's first football game). I didn't even download them for a couple of days because I knew they were horrible. Well....now I can't look at them without dying laughing! Both girls are SO easy to get gorgeous pics of by themselves, but put them together....good Lord!! The weather is supposed to be nice this week, so I'm hoping to spend some time trying to get some good shots. I want to get all the kids together, but we'll see. After all...there are FIVE of them!!

We start with the signature Gracie choke hold.
August 31 (3 of 22) August 31 (4 of 22) August 31 (11 of 22)

Then Wesleigh decides that she's a tiger and starts "roar"ing at me!  Look how Gracie is laughing at her...so funny!
August 31 (12 of 22) August 31 (13 of 22)

So, of course, Gracie has to join in!  This picture absolutely cracks me up!
August 31 (15 of 22) August 31 (16 of 22)

Gracious!!  These girls are hysterical.  This next picture was taken yesterday.  It is the most beautiful pic I've ever seen....
August 31 (22 of 22) ...because it's called "sisters".
They have actually been doing really well. Today was the best day we've had yet, so I'm hoping we will continue to improve each day. They played more than they fussed or whined today...and it was so good!! Unfortunately, Gracie stood on a bike this evening and fell off, hitting her head. She has a huge goose egg on the back of her head, and she was really upset. I think she might have been crying for her mama in China.  It was really sad :(  She cried for about 15 minutes until she fell asleep on me...poor baby.  It is amazing what these children go through, yet they are so resilient.  I am in awe of my two!

By the way....the boys do still live in my house :)  They have been busy with school, football and band so they're in and out.  If we get a break from the rain tomorrow I might try to get some pictures of them and the girls.

Love the pictures of them roaring!! What a hoot. The sure are precious... Glad they had a good day together. I am sure there will be a time when you hardly even remember them not being the best of friends as sisters.

I love these photos Jennifer. I think THESE are the very photos you will treasure in years to come. You know...those girls are going to become tight...the best of friends...and I think you all will look back at this {what is sure to be relatively small period of time}adjustment...and enjoy remembering these early days. Good for you for documenting it! I know these are not the perfect, beautiful portraits we all love...but I think a series of three of this shots, on canvas would make a darling wall display...

Seriously adorable. I love capturing my girls together in pics. They sure do make it a challenge though. I am loving all your picture updates. Sounds like things are going well with the adoption and the girls are adjusting so well. That is so awesome to hear!

So cute and sweet. My boys ask to see Wesleigh and Gracie each day. My middle boy loved the video of Gracie singing in Chinese! Thanks for sharing.
We are still waiting on our LOA! Day 66 today--with the holiday, we know that will go on to day 68 (and probably beyond!). China is backed up with LOA's for some reason. I know it will happen in God's perfect time--then I will be stressing out trying to get everything done! Just praying we travel before the end of the year (and hopefully before Christmas!).

I love the roaring pictures! It's so fun to see Gracie with her sister. What blessings you have! You are doing much better at keeping up your blog than I am... I need to go update ours:)

Oh, I love these pictures! Not sure when you traveled, but I see in a few posts back you asked about how long the adjustment time was. When we brought my daughter home, she was the same age as her brother - I found the first 6 weeks were very rough, lots of jealously. But then we hit a turning point and it was completely different after that. Still best friends today - 6 years later!

The girls are so cute!

How is the communication going between them? Does Wesleigh understand any Chinese? How you are communicating with Gracie? Do you use an iPhone app or any other electronic device to translate?
