From Football...Back to Baseball

I am beginning to realize that our sports don't seem to have a true season around her...well, at least baseball doesn't seem to!  Braden and Cade were both invited to play in the All-state baseball tournament in town last weekend.  Of course, they both played at the exact same time Saturday and Sunday so we spent alot of time running between the two fields.  They had alot of fun and so did we!  Cade even got runner-up in the homerun derby for his age group :)

Cade and Timmy are teamates but were put on different teams for this tournament.  Their teams played each other on Sunday and these two were hysterical!  They were kicking dirt at each other and having a good ole time.

Timmy even ended up pitching to Cade :)

Cade hit a triple off the first pitch!  You know he wanted that ball to go out SO bad!!  Look how short Cade's pants are :)  He is growing so fast!!!

Talk about growing...look at these legs!!!!  One day, his body will catch up with those limbs!  lol...

Braden and Cole.  I have a post to do of just these two.  They are inseparable and were thrilled to be on the same team for this tournament.  I'm going to work on a "through the years" post of them :)

Even though Cade is in the middle of football, he is still having baseball practices a couple times a week.  He is thrilled because he is loving baseball right now.  I'm not sure his love of football can compete.  I don't care what they're playing...I just love to watch (and cheer obnoxiously loud!!)

Are You Ready For Some Football??

With the start of another school year, comes the start of football! I have to admit, Cade has turned me into quite a football mom over the past few years.  His heart has been more towards baseball lately, but I have to admit...I LOVE watching him play football!  He plays on both the 7th grade and 8th grade teams... every play... offense and defense.  I have so much fun snapping shots during the games.  You never know what you'll have when you get home :)

Here are a few of my favorites from the past couple of weeks:

Cade is blocking #17 here.

Running the ball

Look how many players they needed to get him down :)

I love this group of boys.  #34 and Cade have known each other since preschool!

Cade is horizontal with the ball.  Notice he only has one shoe on.

I don't quite know what the shoe problem was in this game, but he intercepted the ball here and ran half way down the field.  Look close and you can see his shoe flying behind him :)  He ran the rest of the way without it :)

Our seasons seem to be less defined around here lately.  Cade is at baseball practice today.  I love it.  I wouldn't trade these boys for anything!

The Boys

I figured I need to go on and post first day of school pics of the boys... since they've now finished TWO weeks of school!  Geez....

We have one extreme to the other this year!  Bryce is a SENIOR!!  I can't believe it!  This is going to be a very busy and exciting year for Bryce.

Braden is now in the 9th grade.  He goes to the Freshman High right across the street from Bryce so they can ride to school together.  I love seeing them together :)  Braden is almost as tall as Bryce!

That would leave Cade who is starting 7th grade.  He's such a goofball!  He is the only one out of 5 that we have to drive to school in the mornings.
All three boys are wearing the same size shoes: 12!  I can't wait to see if Cade's keep growing!!

We are off to a good start.  I attended senior open house and kindergarten open house in the same week...then hit 9th grade and 7th grade the following week.  Can't say I ever expected to have such a range :)  Sure makes life fun!!

Praying all these kiddos have a great school year, and that God uses them on their campus to be a light in the darkness.  I pray that they stand up for what they believe in and that the favor of God would be upon them!!

So Far, So Good!

School has been going great for the two littles!  They seem to be enjoying their days and there have been no issues that I know of :)  They are so precious getting on the bus and think they're big stuff.  I'm not going to lie, being able to walk back inside and drink a cup of coffee, pick up the kitchen and get laundry caught up has been amazing!  It has done this mama good.

Here are some pics from the last 2 days:
Love these red shoes and knee socks!!

Love these monogram decals for their converse too!!

A few funnies from these first days:
* I have always told the girls "Mommy always comes back".  While we were waiting for the bus the first day, I heard my mom tell Wesleigh, "You will come back, just like Mommy always comes back".  So today as we're waiting for the bus Wesleigh tells me "Don't worry Mommy...I always come back".  So sweet!  She is always busy making sure everyone is ok and knows where to go and what to do.

* Gracie has slept during nap all 3 days.  My guess is, she will sleep every single day!

*Wesleigh slept today and I'm shocked!  I never thought she would, but she has been exhausted when she gets home so I'm glad.

*They've been going to be at 8:00 because they're so tired.

*We're still working on the lunch thing.  Gracie does good and eats most of her lunch (soup, of course!).  Wesleigh, however, has yet to eat her sandwich.  I'm going to try mac n cheese tomorrow to see if that works better.  They are both starving when they get home.

* They are having trouble getting into "sister mode" when they get home.  It takes them a while to start playing with each other.  They finally do get in the groove and enjoy each other.

* All Wesleigh wants to do when she gets home is "snuggle" with me.  I am happy to oblige :)

* One of my friends who teaches 5th grade saw Wesleigh in the hall and went "pssst" to her twice.  As she told me the story, her hands were on her hips and she said "Her is going to get me in twouble!".  SO funny!  As expected, Wesleigh is all about doing exactly what she's supposed to.  Gracie hasn't told me any specific stories yet.... not sure if that's good or bad :)  lol...

Here's a look at my first day of school gifts for the teachers:

I did this when the boys were little too and it's always a hit :)

I haven't blogged it, but my boys have actually started school too!  lol... This is their second full week.  I took pics, but never posted them.  Now that I have more time to myself, I'm hoping to get a handle on the blogging!

School Is In!!

I'm not going to lie...I am happy!  I know some moms boo hoo when their babies leave the nest for kindergarten, and I must admit, there is a part of me that feels very guilty for not sharing the same feelings.  I just don't.  As much as I love having littles, I am happy that they are growing up.  I am happy to have just a little bit of time to catch up on some things around the house that have been on hold...forever!!  Of course, it doesn't hurt that the girls were just as excited as I was :)

Here they are:
They definitely make these uniforms look a little cuter :)  Wesleigh was completely in charge this morning.  She spent the morning re-assuring Gracie that she would be in the room next door and that they were going to have a great day.  The school has a sports theme this year, so everything has a ball on it.  Last night, Wesleigh said "Kindergarten is going to be boring...just baseballs and footballs and basketballs!".  I told her that those were just the decorations, that she was going to learn to read and write more words and do math.  She lit up and said "Why didn't anyone tell me?!?!"  SO cute!!

Gracie really did not need the extra re-assuring from Wesleigh...although she always feels more comfortable when she's around.  It will be interesting to see how she does in a different class from Wesleigh.  She depends on Wesleigh alot.  It's one of the reasons I decided to split them up.  I think they're both going to grow so much this year!

 Here it comes!!!

They never even looked back until the bus driver told them to wave goodbye :)

They'll be home in about 15 minutes.  I can't wait to hear all their stories about their day!!

Trevor Part 2

Trevor is doing great!  An experimental chemo drug seems to be shrinking the mass in his throat and he has improved so much!  Praying this is his miracle!!

It's been a couple of weeks now that we attended Trevor's "Celebration of Life" party.  Cancer Services did such an amazing job making Trevor feel special and loved.

Cinderella and Snow White made an appearance.  My girls were just a little excited :)

You can see Wesleigh is holding Snow White's apple.  Gracie was so concerned that Snow White had that apple.  She must have warned her a million times not to eat that apple!  So funny!

Trevor's sister, Tiana.

Braden had been working on Tiana since she had been at the house...trying to win her over.  He finally came up to me like this :)  She now loves him and wanted him to chase her around the room the entire night.

There was a magic show

Gracie put on a show of her own when she was chosen to assist on a trick!

I snuck Tiana out for a few minutes to snap a few pics.  I love this little girl!

Braden took Tiana to the front to dance with her. This might be my favorite pic of all.

Trevor and his friends singing karaoke.

Love this!  Notice Gracie dancing around Braden and Tiana.  She kept everyone entertained!

I saw Allison and the kids last week.  Trevor is completely off his pain meds and oxygen because of this new drug!  Things were pretty bad right before he started it.  I'll post updates.

Our local news did a great story on Trevor a couple of days ago.  You can see it HERE!
