Time Away

We've been busy over here, and have our hands full. I seem to constantly have a house-full of boys. Lots of things going on - some good, some not so good. I just haven't been in a blogging mood, so I think I'm going to take a break. We're going to the beach for a couple of weeks, and I hope to be in a much better place when we get back.

Summer is flying by. I don't want to miss it!
I'll be back soon.

Weekend of Fun...Monday of Laundry!!

They did it again!! Braden's team played in their last tournament of the season this weekend, and they won!! I don't know how they pulled it out, but they did! I tell you what, this little team has become "the team to beat!" We were at the ballpark for 8 hours on Saturday and 6 hour yesterday, so needless to say, there is more than a pile of laundry on the floor - STINKY laundry! I almost took a picture for you, but figured you were probably staring at your own dirty laundry and didn't need to see mine.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Braden sliding into home.

Of course, a catching picture.
Getting the trophy
a team photo
Trying to douse the coach. Too bad they're short! Don't worry, he directed them to another, unsuspecting coach they were able to soak.
Like father, like son. It was a great Father's Day. I really dropped the ball this year (of course we did spend the entire weekend at the ballpark), but it was a great day! My kids have the best dad!!

Braden..."the take charge kind of guy"

The boys have been at "camp invention" all week. It a great camp that is centered around science and imagination - two things that I would say are not Braden's strengths. This is more up Bryce's alley, but I want them all to go because I know it's good for them. Braden enjoys it well enough because he likes seeing his friends and he's so easy going. He is missing camp today because he was invited to spend the night with a friend for his birthday and I didn't want him to have to miss that. I was surprised yesterday when they asked Braden to memorize a paragraph to share with all the parents this afternoon, but didn't think much of it. He wasn't able to do it because he wouldn't be there. This morning, one of his good friends' moms stopped me and said that her son was very nervous about Braden not being at camp today. I asked her why and she said that Evan said, "Braden is that take charge kind of guy." He truly didn't know what he was going to do without Braden there. His mom told him that he needed to be prepared to pick up the slack and "take charge".

I know Braden is "take charge" out on the baseball field, but that is where he thrives. I am so thrilled to know that he has the same leader's heart in areas where he might not be "the best". I am so thankful for that quiet, shy, cuddly, stubborn, sweet, freckle faced little boy that God has given to me.

Cade..."the funny one"

Cade is all about who he can meet. Anywhere we go, he's looking for a new friend. At the LSU game the other night, he met a little boy who was sitting next to him. The boy asked Cade if "those" were his brothers. Cade pointed to Bryce and said, "That's the wierd one, Bryce". He pointed to Braden and said, "That's the annoying one, Braden". And then he said, "And I'm the funny one, Cade." Yes, he is.

Another Baseball Weekend

We had a great weekend. Once again, it was filled with baseball. 2 games for Cade, and 2 for LSU. It is SO hot here! We've been in the mid 90's with high humidity. I don't know why, but every year we seem to be surprised when it's this hot. I guess it's just wishful thinking, but it's not even July yet!

This evening at the LSU game, we got to sit next to the most hateful, evil, ugly woman I think I have ever met. She thought we were sitting the 5 of us in to 4 seats (not that it would matter, it was bleachers and my boys' behinds take up half the room hers did). She was so angry that she kept telling her husband (who was sitting next to Braden) to scoot over. I tried explaining to her that we had five seats, but she put her hand up, closed her eyes and shushed me! If you know me at all, I don't do very well being shushed. I told Richard (who was at the other end) what was happening, and he switched seats with Braden. He practically sat on the mans lap, then said, "How you doin'?" It was pretty funny. We then proceeded to have a fight with them, again trying to explain that we had 5 seats, but she actually looked at me and pointed her finger and yelled at me to "shut up" many times. I proceeded to explain to everyone around us how absolutely uncalled for and ugly she was, and for whatever reason, she eventually got over it. I think if the boys had not been there, I would have really wanted to lay into her, but they were already having to witness her being so ridiculous, I didn't wan't them to watch me get into it with her. I just can't believe that I was there with my young boys, who just wanted to enjoy the game, and had to deal with such a true *itch. My blood is still boiling. Ended up, the tigers pulled it out in the 9th inning, and we really had a great time.

This week, the boys are all going to a camp at the school! I am looking forward to them going, but not so much the getting them (and myself) up. I have so much to catch up on here at home: laundry, flower beds, grocery shopping, etc., and I'll be happy to be able to do all of it without the boys.

Have a great week!

1 Year Down and Thank You!

Well, today's the day. It's been exactly 1 year since our LID in China. I know it's a big milestone, but knowing that we still have a LONG way to go is discouraging. For some reason, I haven't had much to post lately. I'm supposed to be working on a meme (it's half done), but I haven't made myself finish it. We've been sleeping late everyday (I slept until 9:00 yesterday!!), and staying at the ballpark late every night. This weekend is my birthday, so a friend is taking me out to dinner tonight. That will be alot of fun. We also have the super regional at LSU this weekend. We were able to get tickets for the whole family, so that will be alot of fun!

I received my secret buddy gift in the mail yesterday! She is so cute! I can't wait to have someone to play with her. Thank you Secret Buddy!!

WOW!!!

Look at what I woke up to today!! I won the raffle for a blog makeover at Daleea's auction site. I was so excited then, and I am beyond thrilled now! Daleea did a great job. She actually used a picture of a chair in my house to make the design! You are awesome Daleea, not only with this beautiful makeover but for all you are doing to help the orphans in China. Thank you so much for your generous heart.

Yeah, Baby!!!

What a fun weekend we had! No laundry was done in this house! We spent the entire weekend on the ball field. Braden's team played a game Friday night, one Saturday, and three yesterday. They won the whole thing! It was very exciting! Our first game was at 8:30 yesterday morning and we got home at 9:00 last night. The boys were exhausted (and so were we),the temperature was in the 90's (we all smelled wonderful), but we didn't care. We were so proud because they played SO hard. The funniest story was during the last game. Braden came up to bat with bases loaded, the pitch came in, and Braden just watched it hit his leg. He knew it would bring a run in, so he didn't even flinch. He says the bruise is so worth it!

Can you believe the size of that trophy? Where am I supposed to put that?! I'm sure Braden will have no problem holding on to it upstairs.

OK, off to do the laundry;) Have a great week!
