1st Day of Preschool

What a day! I don't know who was more excited...me or them! Actually, Gracie didn't really know what was so exciting but she took Wesleigh's lead. I am definitely excited for myself...getting a little break, but I'm really just excited for them. I know how much they are going to love preschool. It was very surreal to be driving that route again for the first day of preschool! To have a sophomore in high school and be experiencing the first day of preschool all over again is pretty funny! Wesleigh has been waiting to wear her backpack for weeks! She was more than happy to take pics for me since she got to wear it. 1st day of school (1 of 20)center light 1st day of school (2 of 20)

This is my favorite!  They just crack me up!

They are waiting to get out of the car in this pic.  They did exactly what I thought they would do.  Wesleigh was more than ready and hopped out of the car.  She then immediately started running to her teacher and the playground.  Gracie got out of the car and looked up at me with a stressed look on her face, but then turned around and saw that Wesleigh was about to hit the playground and took off after her.

I was second in carline because I thought Gracie would stress if she saw other children leaving before her.  Their teacher walked them out.  They waved and when Gracie saw it was really me, she burst into tears.  It was that "you really did come back" cry that breaks your heart every time.  They were happy as could be and their teacher said they had a great day.  I am so proud of both of them!

We stopped by our favorite Chinese restaurant and picked up a quart of Wonton soup.  These two ate the entire thing!  You can see that Gracie has taught Wesleigh how to drink out of the bowl like a true Chinese girl should :)

I love how she is looking at me through the bowl :)

Right now, they are both still napping (never happens)!!  I guess preschool is really hard work!!  I need to go wake them up or they'll never go to sleep tonight!!

Have a great weekend!  We are crazy busy here...everyone running in different directions!  Just another day in the life :)

Oh how I waited for these pics!! Adorable! Adorable! Adorable!! I can relate to the "surreal" feeling of "driving that route" again. It has been 17 1/2yrs since I have had to walk a little one to pre-K! Although it's a few mornings I tear up watching her blow kisses to me as the teacher leads them in, I'm loving it....every step of the way!!! I still can't believe MY BABY is in REAL SCHOOL!! Where does the time go??!!

Oh, they are so sweet. I love the picture where they are hugging each other. Glad the first day went well. My heart aches for Gracie who thought you might not come back. I pray she starts to understand that she is with her "forever" family now!

The girls could NOT be cuter on their first day of school! I am so glad it went so well! Can't wait for them to really get into the swing of things and Gracie's language to explode!
