Miss Wesleigh Jane!

What an unbelievable day! We woke up at 3:00 am and left the hotel at 5:30. The plane was on time and the boys spent that time catching up on their journals. I have to say, reading those journals is so awesome. It is amazing to see the trip through their eyes. They were so unbelievable excited (and nervous). We checked into the hotel and got to get everything unpacked. The rooms are small and there are no drawers to put clothes in, so we have things everywhere. That's ok...minor details. We got to the Civil Affairs Office a little early and what do you know...Wesleigh came walking out of the back room with the orphanage director.. I was unprepared for that and started grabbing the cameras. The boys were the sweetest camera men ever. I don't know what the video will look like because they kept switching out so they could have time to play. Wesleigh was very nervous at first and didn't want anything to do with the toys...until, that is, we bought out the stacking cups! She started watching the boys and got more and more involved in the game of building the tower and knocking it over. She started to laugh at them when it fell and even clapped for herself when she built it back. She was adorable, and of course the boys were eating every second up. They just stared at her and would notice all the little details.

When we got back to the room. They all hovered around me to play. I gave her a bath which went quite well. They said she was used to sitting in a tub and I believe them. She is tiny. She seems to be tall, but super skinny! I've never had one of those before ;) She fell asleep sitting on my lap while the boys sat there and stared at her. They are smitten. We also saw that she sucks her second finger to go to sleep....SO CUTE. We all went, "awww" when she stuck it in her mouth. She is still sleeping, but I'll need to wake her up soon so we can sleep some tonight.

So far...so good. She looks like she was well cared for and everything has been great. She's not so sure what she thinks of Richard but she did let him put Cheerios in her mouth. Oh...and the big bow on her head.....I put it in and she never touched it!! She still has it in sleeping right now!! Yep...she's mine!!!!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. Keep them coming!! It's a wonderful piece of home, and so wonderful to know we have so many family and friends praying for us. Wesleigh will see one day, just how many people were waiting for her to get home!

Dear Jen,
What a blessing to see you with that vision of Southern Lovliness on your lap. It is so obvious that God chose Wesleigh Jane just for you! And, he picked this day for her to officially be your daughter. It is also so clear that your prayers have been answered. She has been protected and loved. God safely watched out for her until He could put her in your care. There is a sense of peace, a glow about you! You fought hard for Gotcha Day on January 25th, and I am so very proud of you! I know that Wesleigh Jane will bless you all beyond what you could pray for or imagine! Enjoy every minute as you get to know that precious little "Tea Cup!"

Love,
Diana

I got teary eyed looking at all the pictures. I couldn't wait to get up this morning and check your blog. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! I agree with Diana, she looks like she was meant to be with you. A perfect match and fit. And how impressive she didn't touch the bow! LOL! I can't wait to continue to read your journey. You and your family will stay in my prayers. Enjoy your family of six now!! YEAH!

The girl knows how to wear a bow!!!(like her cousin Auden) To me it's special that GOTCHA Day is Rylan's birthday-our first Gotcha! So many blessings to thank God for. And those brothers!! How precious are they! Wesleigh, Madelyn and Hayden in Denver are so, so, so anxious to meet you! Can't wait to love on you. Rylan and Auden will be there when you see your new home.
Jennifer, to see you write "she's mine"-the blessing of a lifetime-I'm so proud of you for persevering to make this happen for our family. Wesleigh will soon learn to appreciate the protection and unique love of having a father. Richard, hang in there. I love you all and again, can't wait to meet you, Wesleigh. Mawmaw

Jennifer-

Hello and congratulations. We traveled to China almost one year ago to pick up our daughter Maeve. Following your journey has brought back such great memories. We have three boys as well so we can relate to the excitement of having a little princess. Enjoy your trip (it will fly by!) and thanks for sharing!

Oh Jennifer, you have the most glowing and peaceful look on your face!!!!! Just like the Lord says that He has all of our days planned. I believe Wesleigh was always part of His plan for your family. It looks like she fits in so seamlessly. I need to get the kids off to school but I ma coming right back to stare at her some more. She is a true vision of loveliness. Enjoy every single second Jen! I am so glad the boys are enjoying her immensely too. From what you wrote they sound so enamored with her too. I am sure she will warm right up to Richard.

East meets South for sure!! I love seeing Wesleigh, already looking very southern :) I am very proud of the boys - this is a huge adjustment - any little sister would be an adjustment, but to wait three years & fly to China to get her? Well, that's just spectacular & they are handling it with such grace! I am glad that they are able to entertain her & get some smiles from Wesleigh. I love the smile on YOUR face - you know, amidst the chaos and the jet lag, there is always room for love.

Enjoy this bonding time!

I can't wait to read the boys journals. I read a comment about how the time will fly for y'all but right now it seems to be creeping here. I can't wait to see y'all coming down that concourse at the airport in 10 days. I'm so proud of you and Richard for being faithful to the call of God.

Ok, boys, I have an assignment for all of you. You have to teach Wesleigh how to say "Mawmaw" and "Pawpaw." Now if she could learn that by the time y'all get home that would really be cool.

And Diana I just want to thank you for being so faithful in posting for Jennifer... and at some really early hours. It was so wonderful to see that post at 5:30 this morning. Thanks you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Love,
Pawpaw

OH MY GOODNESS!!! She is just amazingly beautiful and sweet. I am soooo thankful things have gone so well. She sounds like she is just quietly taking everything in and loving it. I just love the picture with you holding her while she is sleeping. That is precious! I am just thrilled to finally see her in your arms. She is perfect! I will continue to pray for her adjustment and yours as well. What a joyous day!!!

Big hugs!!!!

Christy :)

ps- she may just be a petite little thing. Mia is not short but skinny-- not much fat on her at all and we have had her for almost 3 years-- just built that way. Wesleigh may be the same way but for girls, isnt that great??? My boys were chubs so I was not use to it either and use to worry about nutrician and finally just gave up and realized she is just thin naturally-- lucky girl :)
