Home Away From Home

Gracie and I have settled into our temporary home away from home.  She has been a dream!  I could not have asked her to be any better.  She seems to be enjoying having my undivided attention, which I'm happy to give her.  She was so good on the plane, even though she does not like being in the air :)  Here's a picture taken on my phone.  She looked SO adorable!! (if I do say so myself)  This might be my favorite find from...you guessed it...Zulily!

Yes...that is a crown sticker on her head :) The Cinderella sticker book was a big hit!

So...what exactly are we doing?  Gracie is having some tests run this week to figure out exactly what her condition is now and also try to figure out what her surgery was in China.  She's a puzzle and came to me with no information about her 1 year hospital stay...only a nasty scar. We had a test yesterday and she has a big exam tomorrow that they will put her to sleep for. Friday, we have a meeting with the doctor to find out the results. We will be here through next week doing some different therapies and such.

I am missing home and so is Gracie. She and Wesleigh are so sweet. They talk on the phone in their jibber jabber and say each other's name a hundred times while we're Skyping. They will be so happy to see each other.

We can't wait 'till Friday when we have a special visitor coming!! We get to meet one very sweet little girl for the first time. I can't wait!! I'm sure we will have lots of pics to share!!

Well...that's about it. There is much more going on at home. I'm missing Bryce's Christmas concert and two of my boys riding in the Christmas parade...just to name a few. It's a hard time of year to be gone, but it's what we needed to do. We will be back home in time for Bryce's military ball and the girls' Christmas program so it's all good!!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. A one year stay with no info. Goodness. We never got any info on Sophia's heart surgery, but when we took her to a specialist he said that they did a magnificent job. I am hoping for the same news for you and Gracie. I am sure it will be :)

I've been reading your blog for awhile....we are in the process for China (just received LOA last week) and your blog has been an encouragement to me along the way :) Your family is just beautiful and I love that Gracie has had such a good transition into your family. I will be praying for your time away.....and for answers for G's medical issues.
Blessings,
Jenny C.
