Tutu Cute

I appologize for the number of pictures in this post. I just got the CD in of almost 90 photos from our session last weekend. I decided to divide them up so I could show more of them. These are of Wesleigh in this awesome tutu that my SIL made. My niece, Auden wore it in some pictures and we just had to do the same!

I love these tutu pictures so much I almost wished I had left her in this outfit the whole time!

Bummer!

Yesterday was Braden's 5th grade field trip. Since he will be in jr. high next year, this was probably the last field trip I will be included on. I originally thought I wouldn't go because I felt I shouldn't leave Wesleigh for that long. I then rethought because I knew it would mean alot to Braden if I was there. I'll admit, too, the thought of having a day without a precious 2 yr. old on my hip was a little exciting! (So sad when a 5th grade field trip is a break!!)
So the day began...my mom stayed with Wesleigh and I also kept Cade home to be here as well (I know...bad). She has never been without one of the 5 of us, so I didn't want her to freak out. We loaded the 3 charter buses to drive about 1 1/2 hrs. to Avery Island. This is where Tabasco is produced. I had never been and was really looking forward to it.
We got about 15 minutes away and the bus I was on broke down!! We were able to put the kids on the other 2 buses but they wouldn't let the parents (only 15 of us) get on because they wouldn't allow 3 to a seat! We were NOT happy!
We were on the side of the road for an hour before another bus came to get us. We missed the factory tour that showed how the tabasco is made, and left late to make sure we hit the 5:00 traffic on the way in! We were supposed to be home at 4:30 but didn't make it until 6:00.
This might go down as the worst field trip ever!
Here's a picture of some of the parents waiting.

The island really is beautiful. I would like to have really seen it ;)

Here's my sweetie. I was glad he got to go ahead without me, but know that he was probably worried about me being left behind. That's the kind of kid he is.

The good news is that Wesleigh did great. She was very excited to see me when I got home, and seems to be just fine. She's still sleeping this morning, so I'm enjoying a little quiet to myself!
P.S. Thank you all for your sweet comments about our portraits! I should be getting the CD with many more, so I can't wait to see/share the rest!

Here They Are!

Mackenzie just posted these pics on her blog! I am so excited! Of course, I'm super critical of myself and pics, but for the most part, I think they're wonderful. Getting 6 people to look perfect in every picture just won't happen. Mackenzie is awesome at finding some of the most unusual places to use as great backgrounds. The chair is actually from my house. We drove around with it in the back of my truck until we needed it. Richard didn't even complain about it!! He was awesome! I can't wait to see more!
What do you think?

Just the Way I Like It!

A backyard full of boys!! These are actually from last weekend. We were in a ball tournament and ended up with a couple extra teamates and neighbors. Richard had gone to the LSU baseball game that evening so it was me and Wesleigh with 6 stinky boys. They played backyard baseball until I forced them to come in around 7:00. This is after they played 2 baseball games that day. Crazy boys...I love 'em!!
This first picture cracks me up because Braden is mid-air trying to peg Cole with the ball. Can you see that HUGE smile on his face? So cute. (I think he got him, but can't quite remember)

And Miss Cheerleader...she LOVES these boys! She cheers right along with me! She traded in her bow for more appropriate headgear ;)
DSC_4666
I have to say, I cracked myself up when I looked out and two of the boys had gone home. I thought, "Oh, good...I only have 5 kids now"!
We did take our pictures Saturday evening. You can't even imagine the hoops we had to jump through just to get there. Between baseball, the horrible storms, etc. I really thought we would have to cancel. I am so excited that we didn't though!! Mackenzie does some amazing things and I can't wait to see the pics! She took over 700 so surely some of them are great. Can't wait to share them.

Can You Stand the Cuteness?

We had a great playdate yesterday. Margie and Jill came from Mississippi with their precious girls (Macie, Raegan, and Lilli). And I met a new friend who lives pretty close with her daughters Abba and Kaylyn. The girls had a great time together, and I thoroughly enjoyed the company!!
This is the best we could do. We have 1 MIA, but the other 5 semi-cooperated. lol...

Wesleigh was all about the Mama-razzi. She posed the whole time.

We headed to the park for some fun. Wesleigh HATED the sand!! We have some serious work to do before the beach!!

DSC_4714

This is as close as she got to walking on the sand. I had her outside today walking barefoot on the grass (which she hates) to try and get over the texture thing.

She is so my daughter. She LOVES shoes (and the blingier the better!). She found Abba's shoes and fell in love with them. She wore them the whole time we were there.

We had such a great day. I was so excited to visit with these moms. I can't wait to do it again!!

I Never Thought I'd See the Day...

...when my 13 yr. old would be riding a pink tricycle around the driveway!
DSC_4639 You gotta love a brother that will ride his little sister around on a pink tricycle!!
I love it!!

DSC_4636
Wesleigh and I went to my dad's office to meet the people he works with. I've known them all for years, so it was fun to introduce them to Miss W. They had a gift for her...the awesome pink tricycle!! I LOVE it!! It is the cutest stinkin' thing I've ever seen. She was super excited about it. She's not quite big enough to reach the pedals which is why Bryce was giving her a hand.
DSC_4642
After the bike ride, she decided to dump out the dog's water and spash in it. Here's the difference between a blogger mom and a dad: mom sees it and runs for the camera. Dad comes around the corner and fusses at little girl AND mom. Then he changes the water container to a huge bucket that W can't lift! Geez...where's the fun in that? LOL... That's alright...I got my pics!!

I had some wonderful visitors today that I will post about tomorrow!
Hope you're having a great week!!

Real Life

DSC_4543

I love this picture. Wesleigh has definitely given me something fun to take pictures of!

I have been exhausted lately! I feel like the honeymoon is over, and that I'm crashing from about a 6 month high. All the excitement from the referral, travel, getting home and meeting everyone for the first time is pretty much over and real life is setting in. Miss W is a blast. We have enjoyed her more than we could imagine, but I'm also more exhausted and my house is more disgusting than I ever imagined. Maybe one day soon I'll get it together...maybe.

We are scheduled to take our first family pictures as a family of 6 next weekend. I am SO excited about it! A girl that my brother graduated with is a photographer in Houston (one of the best I've seen). She is amazing!! She is coming into town for the weekend and agreed to do our photos. I can't wait!! I am super stressed about everyone's clothes and have actually lost sleep over it! I want them to be perfect. I can't wait to share them with you!
Have a great weekend. We don't have a tournament this weekend, but they are playing a few games. It is perfect baseball weather!

I Might Have a Problem!

Well, actually, I'm quite sure I have a number of problems...so let's just focus on one for today! I'm pretty sure I'm WAY too competitive! I don't actually know when this developed. One of my brothers, while we were growing up, used to drive us crazy because he was too competitive, but I think mine might have kicked in after the boys started playing ball. My parents are not competitive at all. They are both very laid back and mild mannered. I know what you're thinking...where did I come from? Who the heck knows!
So...to the point: this fb bow contest. I'm still a little mad that I lost! How silly is that?!?! We got 90 comments! The other girl had alot of duplicate comments which weren't supposed to count, but who knows! We came in 2nd and got a $10 gift certificate, so I should be happy and thankful...right? Hmph...
Go on...tell me to grow up. I'M TRYING!!!

Thank you all for commenting on Wesleigh's picture! 90 comments!! That's amazing. You are awesome!
So...on to the real reason you're here...Miss Wesleigh. This is how she decided to pose the other day. How hysterical is that?!?! She really stood like this and waited for me to snap the picture!

This girl is SILLY! She has definitely been becoming more and more animated these past few weeks. She is really funny!

DSC_4510

She gives the best hugs and kisses ever!

DSC_4499

Richard's parents were in town for the weekend. Mama Bec got some bubble blowing time in. Wesleigh loves the bubbles!

Hope you're all having a great week! The boys are in testing this week, so things are pretty quiet in the afternoon with no homework. That's always nice! I can't believe the school year is almost over! Where does the time go?
