I was going to give you a picture, but blogger isn't letting me!
What a great weekend we had! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous - 70 degrees and sunny. We have been taking full advantage of it too! We had friends over to eat both Friday and Saturday and the kids rode their bikes and played football until they couldn't see the ball anymore. Yesterday we started baseball!! Yay!!! Braden and Cade had back to back practices yesterday (Richard is coaching both teams). We ended up being at the ball field from 12:30-5:00. I actually got a little sun on my pastey white legs. I had a blast. Richard, on the other hand, was so sore last night that he could hardly move. I didn't see him this morning, so I don't know if he hobbled to work or not. I know you cold weather people probably don't like hearing about the great weather, but don't worry, it won't be long and we will be suffering with 100% humidity and horribly hot temperatures!
In other news, I AM OLD!!! I don't feel old, I don't think I look old, but it's the only reason I have. I went to the doctor this past week for that sinus infection. While I was there, they took my blood pressure (3 times). It is VERY high! It was 160/100. I have never had problems with my blood pressure, so the doctor made me buy one of those at home machines and continue to test it. It's high every time. I am really upset about it. I am already on cholesterol medicine, but that wasn't a surprise because my dad had a heart attack at a very young age, and I was kindof expecting to have problems with that. Since the doctor's visit, I have found that my dad and one of my brothers are on blood pressure meds already. Great! Am I really going to be 36 and taking cholesterol AND blood pressure medicine EVERY day? My other concern is China. When we did the physical, I had to do the letter about the cholesterol. What are they going to think if they see cholesterol and blood pressure? Does anyone know how old your physical has to be before you have to update it? Does anyone know if these issues will be a problem? If we don't go SN, I am under the "new" qualifications.

don't be pressured into SN because of your BP. Your Doctor can write a letter or maybe this can be a goal to tweak your diet, especially salt intake. Make an appointment with a dietician.
The new rules screwed us. My Hubs takes meds for anxiety and IBS and I take an anti-depressant. The Hubs won't go for it anyhow so it doesn't seem to matter. Sucks...
Jennifer that makes me upset for you. Maybe there are some dietary changes you can make, or it could just be a passing thing.
My husband had all these issues too. For him it was all about making dietary changes. He eats lots and lots of oatmeal. That was his doctors recommendation. He isn't on any meds any more.
Its funny how everything we do or have happen to us, ALL makes us worry about the adoption!
Try NOT to worry.

OMGosh the weather has been so awesome!I have "spring fever" BAD!
I am trying to have some self control and not plan a beach trip for spring break.......I know it is going to be too cold....but I still wanna go! We stayed outside the whole weekend too!

Jill :)
P.s. I wanted to tell you on your 7 things post.......I am totally that baseabll mom too......LOL!
Sounds like you have had a busy weekend..
Hope things get better with your health..
Hugs to you girly..
Have a Great Week..
Oh, how icky for you! I'm wondering, too, can you make lifestyle changes to help it?
We were blessed not to have to update any of our info, so I don't know how long before physicals expire, but I haven't heard that as a concern (physicals expiring) from anyone else? I would ask your agency just to help calm your nerves about it. Praying all goes well!
P.S. Can you send some nice weather over our way?!?
your brother wants to know if you were on sudafed. he says that will raise your blood pressure, or other types of cold medicine could too, I suppose (he just walked out the door). don't let it worry you too much, that certainly won't help.
Wow...your weather sounds like Florida! Awesome....enjoy it....must say I am a little envious though....I think we are to have a high of 12 degrees tomorrow!
Bummer about the health issues! I do not believe that you will have to update your health for CCAA, unless they have any questions or concerns. At least that is what our agency is telling us....just for your state....if they make you do updates. We have to do it annually in MN. We will have to do it AGAIN....this summer. Hopefully that will be the last update for us!
glad its time for baseball I know you are ready.
I am so sorry about the bp thing I pray it does not hinder your journey in any way.
China (CCAA) will not see your updated medicals, unless they specifically ask for them. The new medicals are only for our government(USCIS) to see when they issue you a new I-600. You are already logged in, so you have nothing to worry about (unless they start asking everyone for updated medicals). Trust me, I have gone over every scenerio with my agency. It sound like you have high BP in your family, and sometimes doing everything right will still not lower it. You are a product of genetics my dear, and there is probably little you will be able to do that you are not already doing. Try Pomegranet (sp?) juice, it has blood pressure lowering qualities (I think, I know some foods do, try Web-MD)
I agree with what has been said - I wouldn't change programs (NSN-SN) because of any pressure & I believe too that the CCAA will never see your updated medical. I really hope is is a fluke thing & it gets better!
The comments sound encouraging about not having to update the physical. No matter, the Lord has put it in your heart for this child and He will bring it to pass. "The Lord will accomplish what concerns me." Ps. 138:8
Jennifer,
I have an eating tip for you---it will be hard but my blood pressure is Super low and my cholesterol plummetted when I cutout gluten. I cut out wheat flour. I know it sounds silly but when I tlaked to my doc about this she said she sees it a lot. I eat a yummy flax seed bread now. E-mail me and we can talk more about this but the effects are dramatic and once you get past the first week---it tis not hard at all (and you'll lose weight--not that you need to at all!)
Kim
My SW said that high blood pressure is very common in China and that they don't worry about it that much.
Your box came today! Thank you for all of the wonderful clothes and the food that Amanda asked for. I can't wait until all of our things are in China.
