Batting 0 for 3

You do not want to be my friend this month, especially if you have a February birthday. So far, I have missed three very important birthdays. The worst part is I found out after the fact from each friend. I could have died. These are very important people in my lives, and I totally dropped the ball. So is it better to get them a gift after they know you totally forgot, or do you just appologize and plan to make it up to them later? I feel a little silly getting them a gift now. What do you think?

it is a difficult decision. Maybe wait and in a month or so do a special lunch treat or a thoughtful thank you for being my friend gift and card?

I say, give them a gift now. Better late then never!

Don't beat yourself up.

Things happen.....I think a small belated gesture is fine. ;) My birthday is June 16th btw! Just giving you enough time! *wink*

I also think that getting gifts after the fact is fine...as we get older and busier stuff like this happens and if they are true friends, they will understand! And yes, don't beat yourself up!!

I also think a "belated" gift is completely acceptable. As girlfriends we all know life gets a little crazy sometimes, and things we don't mean to forget slip through the cracks. Girlfriends should always understand that. AND who doesn't love a little unexpected something after their birthday!! :)

I have done that before and actually have one friend who we aren't really friends anymore because she was so mad that I forgot and never moved on from it. I would make a day with each one and do lunch and saying I am sorry is always nice.

I started reading the book you recommended on Thursday last week and finished it by Tuesday night before going to bed.
It really is a good book, but I had a feeling early on what would come out at the end.

Thanks for encouraging me to dig it out and read.

I sooo know what you're feeling. My BFF totally dropped the ball on my 40th b-day; I even called her that day--for something totally unrelated and I even forgot she didn't mention it until a few days later--but then, totally unintentionally, I forgot her birthday the next year and knew how crappy that makes you feel, so I totally forgave her and she, me.

I'd give a gift. But then again I love to give gifts anytime, not just b-days.
