GEAUX BRYCE!

Today was a big day for our family!  I haven't even posted back to school pics of the other 4 kiddos but I just had to post these today.  It's official!  Bryce is a college student and now lives on campus!

 

I was a little concerned that I would boo hoo, but the truth is...I'm just so excited for him that I can't be sad!  (not to mention, he's only 30 minutes away!)  He moved in a few days early to start band camp this afternoon!  We will know in a few days whether he will be a part of the marching Tiger Band!

 

Boys are SO easy!  We saw all kinds of girl accessories being moved in today.  Truth is, Bryce never even saw his bedding until we unpacked it today :)  He couldn't care less.  And he's not bothered one bit that there are no matching curtains! lol...

I was also a little concerned that the girls would fall apart when we left him there.  They have been dreading this day, but they rallied to the occasion and were just fine.

Anyone who knows Bryce, will think this is hysterical.  He has always loved tents, secret rooms and hiding places.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if he spends some of his time down there!  lol...

Saying goodbye.  She said this morning that she had a plan .  It was to hide and stay at college with Bryce.  At dinner the other night she actually said "Oh..NO... you go...I go!"  lol...

Bryce promised the girls that he would let them sleep with him one night before he left.  Last night was that night.  He had something on campus and when his friends asked him to stay after, he told them, "This is going to sound very wrong, but I have to home and sleep with my sisters".  When they questioned him, he told them "because I promised they could sleep with me before I move and they're 6."  When he got home, he carried 2 sleeping girls upstairs to his room and ended up sleeping on the floor because they took up the whole bed.  I just don't know many brothers who would do that.  What a blessing he is to us.  I am so proud of him and can't wait to see what the future holds.  And I certainly can't wait to see him march down that hill in his band uniform playing "Geaux Tigers!!"

Texas de Brazil

We took Bryce and a group of his friends to Texas de Brazil to celebrate graduation.  We left the girls at home and were able to focus on these big kids.  It was a lot of fun.  My boys had never been and were loving all the food!





Love all these kiddos. Can't wait to see what God has in store for them in the future!

Bryce's High School Graduation May 23, 2014

It is so hard to believe that my oldest is a high school graduate!  In fact, he will be moving out to attend LSU Tiger band camp in a couple of weeks!!!  We are so proud of him.

We are so proud of him, and he couldn't be happier!  Wesleigh had a meltdown afterwards though.  We couldn't figure out why until we got in the car and she was still sobbing.  She thought since Bryce graduated, he was leaving for college right then and we wouldn't see him again :(  So sweet!












Bryce moves into his dorm on the 17th and starts band camp that afternoon.  If he does well at band camp, he will be a member of the LSU Tiger Band!!  He has a campus job that he has been working this summer and is ready to start the next chapter of his life.  LOVE this boy!!

High School Band Comes to an End

I just can't believe it!  We watched Bryce give his last high school band performance last week.  I can't even express how much I have enjoyed Bryce being in the band through jr. high and high school. 

He has been a member of this quintet for the last couple of years.

Bryce has two band directors. I love watching them both direct. It's so fun to see teachers really love what they do, and make a difference in their students' lives!

So sad to see this chapter end, but very exciting to move on to the next chapter. Bryce had an audition at LSU last week and was invited to attend their band camp! We fully expect him to make it through band camp and be a member of the LSU Tiger band next year!! So proud of this boy!

Senior Prom!

Yes...I have been absent from the Bloggy world for a little while now.  I have had good intentions...and lots to post, but just haven't made myself do it.  Oh well...I'll try to catch up this week.  Yesterday was such a big day, though, that it pulled me right out of my blog funk.

Yesterday was Bryce's SENIOR prom!!  I cannot believe it!  Now graduation is really just around the corner!!  I am so excited for him and so proud of him that it's hard to be sad for myself (although, I am just a little).  He has plans to attend LSU in the fall and live in a dorm on campus.  That is something I never got to experience so I'm excited for him (and maybe living a little vicariously through him :)  He is also planning to try out for the LSU marching band.. I can't wait!

It was supposed to be raining during picture time and I was already stressing.  We lucked out though and the rain held off!  We were able to use my front porch because of the overcast skies, so it was perfect!

Bryce and Christian.  These two have been in school together since 1st grade!!!  Hard to believe it!  Christian's mom is actually Wesleigh's teacher this year.  I love that they have grown up together!

I will try to get moving on this blog!  Gracie's birthday is Tuesday, so I will definitely have a post for that :)

Senior Pep Rally

What a crazy weekend we had...all centered on Bryce :) Senior pep rally was Friday morning. It was bitter-sweet to see all these kiddos, who I have known since kindergarten, ready to graduate.

My Favorite

Yes...it's true.  I have a favorite.  Actually on any given day, I have between 1 and 5 favorites and I have between 0 and 5 who are... let's just say.... not.  It's a sliding scale.  You can move up and down this scale minute by minute, day by day :)  Does that sound bad?  Just keeping it real over here!

Lately, though, this boy has been way up on the favorites list :)

He has been agreeable, helpful, talkative and pleasant... consistently.  Anyone with teenagers knows that this is not always the case!

His band performed in a marching competition this weekend.  They scored all 1's (the best!)  I am so proud of him and all the hard work he has invested in the band and his studies this year.

I am so sad that there are only 2 more football games and only one more marching competition  before this chapter of our lives is over :(  I can't believe it!  I never knew how much I would enjoy it and now will miss it greatly.

I have not been emotional about him graduating this year until now.  I am enjoying him so much that it makes me so sad to think of him leaving home!!  We do not know where he will end up going to college yet, but I do know that God has a great plan for this boy of mine!  God loves him even more than I do!

Homecomings 1 and 2

This weekend has been jam packed!  I don't think I've taken this many pics in a LONG time!  Our biggest activities were Cade's and Bryce's homecomings.

Cade has his dance on Friday night.  They don't do the boy/girl date thing yet, so their crazy bunch got together and took pics :)

Bryce's dance was Saturday night.

This is my favorite picture of the night :)  The girls always call their brothers "my prince", but when they get dressed up....they go nuts!  They were so cute with their princess dresses on.

I cannot believe this is Bryce's senior year.  Where does the time go?
