Progress? Hmmm.....

So...2 nights ago, Bryce had a couple of boys spending the night and Cade was exhausted from football practice. He decided he would sleep on Gracie's trundle bed. I thought it was a great idea because I felt like it would help Wesleigh stay in her bed. It did help. She got up once at 4:00 but that's it. I did find out, after the fact, that Cade had laid with her in her bed until she fell asleep and then climbed to the other one.

Last night, he decided to sleep in there again. This time, I told him to not get in her bed with her and let me help if she couldn't go to sleep. I never heard a word from them, so assumed she had gone to sleep by herself. Yay! At 8:00 this morning, when I hadn't heard from her all night, I decided to go peek and bask in the progress made. Well...this is what I found:

Cade climbed in bed with her as soon as they went to bed because she wouldn't go to sleep. He fell asleep and slept there the whole night! Dang it! I thought we had made some real progress! Oh well, I wouldn't trade this sweet moment...and I totally enjoyed my full night's sleep!

Awww, that is the sweetest thing!! What a great big brother even though that's not the way you envision her transition. It will click soon I'm sure. Until then, her sweet big bro is helping her ease into being a big girl. :) You were on my heart this morning and I prayed for you on my commute into work this morning. Believing for that TA to arrive any day now!! have a great weekend!

Hysterical! Ha! I'm with you, this experience for them and the bonding is priceless and so worth it! I love how adoption has grabbed the hearts of all of these teenage boys!

it's progress, she stayed in bed and it didn't involve you. Now if you can talk him or the others into sleeping in there and just slowly get it where they don't get in bed with her and and then finally maybe they will be able to leave her room....then Gracie will be home.

such a sweet pic, what wonderful boys you have....your girls are very lucky to have such great big brother's!!
