I get more questions about a keeping room than anything else which is so funny to me. You wouldn't believe how many people show up on my blog after they've g00gled "keeping room". I guess it really is a southern thing. When we were building the house I did a post explaining what a keeping room is because so many people had asked then. Here's that post. Go check it out!

I have heard of "The Great Room" & "The Family Room" - but I really like calling it The Keeping Room! I am wondering what that paint color is in your keeping room?
We had a keeping room when we lived in Indiana. Nobody knew why I called it that! LOL You are right...I think it must be Southern. I loved it!
We have an open kitchen/family room now but it doesn't have the same "feel" as our keeping room.
