Deck the Halls!

I have been trying to get through our trip pics so I can move on to these!  We all got home Saturday (the girls and I got home at 11pm).  We had planned to get our Christmas decorating done on Sunday, but I'd be lying if I said I was feeling festive.

Bryce's friend, Alexandra, loves Christmas.  She couldn't wait to come over and help us decorate.  I was thrilled to have help! She even wanted to go with us to get the tree...I didn't even want to do that!

Ends up, Braden's friend, Karleigh, wanted to go too (much to Braden's dismay).  It ended up being a huge family outing...and alot of fun :)

The best part was when we got home, the girls decided they would put the lights on the tree.  This is usually my job.  I can't tell you how happy I was to not have to do it!  They made the boys follow them around the tree with the strands of lights.  The four of them....walking around and around :)  They got those boys to do more that night than I've gotten them to do in years!!  I loved every minute of it!!

Braden was definitely the scrooge of the group :)  This pic is blurry, but I love it because she is telling him to get up.  Guess what???

He did!!  lol...

But she couldn't keep him from watching the game :)

They were hysterical, and I loved watching them and snapping pics :)

After the lights were on, I brought out the ornaments.  The girls loved seeing the boys' ornaments collected through the years.  I loved it too.

What I noticed when I uploaded these pics is...I wasn't focused on Wesleigh and Gracie.  The past few years, It has all been about my girls.  One reason for that is the boys aren't really interested in things like this anymore.  I was thrilled to be able to enjoy the night with all of them...and I was super happy to not have to be the one decorating!!  Thanks, big girls, for whipping those boys of mine into shape!!!

My bigs don't like to help decorate either, but this year, for once they helped a little more. Love the photos of your sweet memories.

So fun to have big girl helpers this year! I would welcome that too. I did not get all of our special ornaments out this year because no one would help me do the tree! Which is fine because I like to do a simple tree every other year anyway. But I look forward to the day the boys "friends" want to be involved in that stuff…the more the merrier!

it looks like your trip was fabulous too. How wonderful that you got to spend time with Di and the kids all got to have fun together too!!!
