Hip Hip Hooray!!

We're Rested Today!!!

Today is the first day I actually feel like a human being. The sleepless nights were really starting to wear on me. Thankfully, Wesleigh treated me to a full nights' sleep last night!! Granted I was up with Cade and the dog, but I can deal with that! I am hoping we've started a new trend of sleeping but I'm not betting on it. It's also the first day I haven't taken a nap with her...hence the post!
She is doing so good. She is talking alot and coming up with new words all the time. She shakes her head very effectively. Shaking "no" while smiling means "yes"; shaking "no" with a straight face means "no". (Having these little details down make the day go alot smoother.)
This would be the face that goes with "uhhh". She uses that one alot ;)

She is in love with her daddy! It took a little while, but she now knows he is the funniest person around. This morning, she chased him around the house wanting him to hold her. He was pleasantly surprised.

Can you believe those lashes? They are so beautiful!

I am happy to report that we are better with the car seat. She has had two rides since the first disaster, and she did great. She started crying towards the end of the ride today, but I can deal with that. We've basically been spending our days at home. The boys went back to school yesterday. I have to say, it was a little surreal to be at home alone with a 2 year old again. It's been a LONG time since I've been home with a toddler. It's kind of hard to believe that she's really mine!

She is gorgeous! And she seems very content - hard to believe she has come so far so quickly. Its a pleasure to check in with your blog and see real progress. Your "story" gives mes hope for when we become adoptive parents, which should be very soon. We know that we are being matched to an "under 2 yr old", hence my intrigue with your blog! Please keep up with all your news and photos! Deborah

Oh Jennifer....I am in tears at our Father and how He has answered all of our prayers. I am so happy for Wesleigh and her Daddy that they are beginning their relationship.....God is so faithful and so good and so merciful all the time.

So thankful it is a restful day! That makes EVERYTHING better. So sweet that she is playing with her daddy. She is so beautiful and I know just what you mean when you look at her and can't believe you have her... I still do that and we have been home 4 years...

So glad to hear she slept for you!! We have been home over 18 months and our daughter still will not sleep through the night and wakes up many many times. It has been so hard and difficult to deal with. The only night she slept through the night was our first night home!!

Sleep is wonderful and I hope she continues to do well for you.

This is the cutest outfit yet!!! It's adorable. So glad you two were able to rest. Looking at Wesleigh's picture I was thinking about how long and beautiful her lashes are, then you mentioned the same thing in your post! Sweet. Can't wait to meet her. :) Stacey Foretich

Hey Jennifer!
Finally getting on the computer. Oh course, I had to check out your blog. Wesleigh looks so happy. Cole said that he talked to Richard - we are so happy to hear about their bonding. You are right about the JET LAG - Are you kidding me?? I have been exhausted and Grace has even been sleeping thru the night - I couldn't imagine how I would feel if she wasn't. By the way, love all the big bows! Too cute!

Her outfit is precious! I can't wait to see her in a swimming suit! (ok, can you tell I am wistful about spring and especially summer?!)

I love that Wesleigh is seeking out Daddy! How that must make his heart burst!!

And you are RIGHT, those eyelashes are beautiful - do you find it is hard to get anything done when you just want to stare at her all day?!?!
