August 2015

I know...I'm a blogging failure...again.  Here we go again... :)

August, 2015
Bryce turned 19.  He started his sophomore year at LSU.  His major is business management, but there's no guarantee that will stick ;)

We got to sneak off to one of my favorite places in the world.  I absolutely love fishing at Grandad's camp.  I just wish we were able to do it more often!

Happy Birthday Bryce

I'm only about 10 days late posting this for Bryce's birthday, but seeing as I'm not sure I even posted anything for it last year...I think I'm doing pretty good!

Bryce turned 19 on the 7th.  He is about to start his sophomore year of college.  I'm not going to lie...his freshman year was not great.  He got lazy in his spring semester and he is going to have to work extra hard to get back on track.  That's ok.  I know he has it in him and I think he's ready for a great fall.  Tigerband camp starts tomorrow and he is super excited about that.  I am too!  Saturday, we will be able to get our first peek of this year's band coming down the hill for the first time.  Last year, this event might have been my favorite of the entire year.  I can't wait!

I know God has mighty plans for him!  I can't wait to see what they are!!

Party Time

I figure this is probably the last birthday party like this we will have for Bryce since he's a senior this year. I wanted to make sure it was a lot of fun. I think I accomplished that...I hope so.

We rented a big movie screen and had the works...popcorn machine, nachos, hotdogs and lots of movie candy!

This is only part of the crew. I didn't catch them all before they started leaving.

The movie candy

I earned "supermom" status with that :)
What the room looked like when I made my way up there this morning. I have to say, it didn't smell as awful as I thought it would. This was only a few of them, they were in every bed upstairs.
Mountain of pancakes fed to them at noon when they got up. I told them I'd feed them and then I was kicking them out :). There was a total of 10 extra boys last night. Do you see who wouldn't leave them alone?
Ariel stood there forcing them to pay attention to her :)
School starts for the boys tomorrow so I hope this was a fun way to end the summer!!

Happy Birthday Bryce!!

How can it be that my baby boy is 17 years old today?!?! Just yesterday I delivered this sweet boy :)

Bryce has been a joy to parent from the very beginning. He broke us in easy.

I am so proud of the man he is becoming and can't wait to see what God has in store for this precious boy. I know it's something that will add value to people's lives. I know he adds value to mine.

I love you Bryce Jacob!

Happy 16th Birthday Bryce!

WOW!!  That was fast!  0 to 16 in about 3 days flat!!  How does that happen?

I'm pretty sure it was just yesterday that this was Bryce:

August 2012-8733

Bryce has always been infatuated with anything on wheels (He even wants to be a pilot "when he grows up").  His favorite childhood toys were hot wheels and a roads mat.  If I had a nickel for every time I was asked to "pay roads"...  Years ago, in a former life, I used to scrapbook.  (I quit after our fire and I lost most of them)  This one survived and today...that makes me very happy :)

August 2012-8735 (notice the spare truck in the back!)

Now look at my baby boy: August 2012-8737 Finally has his own "real" wheels. This was Richard's old truck. It has a ton of miles on it, and is perfect for Bryce's first vehicle. He is so proud.

  August 2012-8789

We had a party for him, which was originally just going to be family. Then we realized that he had band practice from 6:00-8:00. I told him he could ask some of his friends to come over and eat cake if he'd like.... August 2012-8791

Yep...just a few!!! lol...  (there are about 10 of these boys upstairs sleeping now!)August 2012-8796

August 2012-8799

August 2012-8800

I'm just realizing that I have NO pics of family!!  It was a little overwhelming!

These two would never admit it, but they were super excited for Bryce. This was their way of expressing that :)
August 2012-8801

They actually came to me in the middle of the chaos and asked if I approved. Of course I did! Had it not been so crazy, I would have taught them how to do a better job than that!!! I've rolled a few houses/cars in my day!!! :)

Bryce, I am so proud of the man you are becoming, and so proud to call you my son.  You have amazing gifts that God has given you and am so excited that I have a front row seat to see how He uses those gifts in the future!

Happy Birthday Bryce!!

15!!! Holy Moly!! Where does the time go? Every time he stands next to me, I can't believe I have to look up at him! Every time he talks, I can't believe that his voice sounds like Richard and not me!! I am so proud of the man he is becoming, and as much as I want to keep him "little" forever...I can't wait to see the amazing things he does with his life!!!

What a birthday weekend! To be honest, the past few years, Bryce has only had small family birthday parties. Boy did we make up for that this weekend! We started last night with a group of his friends coming over for pizza and cake. (The girl 2nd from the right is his sweet girlfriend :) Don't tell him I told you ;) lol..

We kept the party going all day long today with a Sea Cadet Family Day at our house! It was a coincidence that it fell on Bryce's birthday, but it was awesome to be able to celebrate his birthday with this group of friends!

The man speaking to the group is an active duty Navy Seal. He just got in from Iraq, and had some amazing things to share with us.

You should have seen my house! This is AFTER the group of Harley motorcycles left! I am sure we had the golf course talking today. So funny! This is a restored Army jeep they brought for the occassion.

This big 'ole thing sat in front of my house all day :) I love it!! As they drove off for a ride around the neighborhood, I couldn't help but think of the little birthday parties we had when Bryce was younger. One was a little train that rode up and down the street taking the kids for rides. Boy have times changed!!
Sea Cadet Family Day (4 of 11)

I was so excited about this cake! I kept it from everyone until the big reveal.

Bryce was very surprised and impressed.

It was so hot today, and these little sisters were such good sports. I let them take a break in my room to watch Cinderella. Wesleigh was in heaven with all these girls around. I did get the report, though, that she is not a "good sharer"...yep...we have our work cut out for us!

And...Mama had to have a little fun too!

So...I'm up late tonight waiting for a glimpse of Di with Emme!! She should have her...I'm just waiting for proof!!!! SO EXCITING!!!
