2013

I know it's been 2013 for 19 days already, but I just have to tell ya...I am excited for this year!  We have some very exciting things happening this year.  Both girls will start kindergarten, the same day Bryce starts his Senior year and Braden starts high school!  I would be lying if I did not say I was looking forward to the girls starting school.  :)  Not so excited for Bryce to begin his senior year :(

Obviously, that is still a ways off, but there is one big event coming up that I am beside myself excited about! I'm going to China!!!  NOT to adopt!!!  I am going to be able to make a trip with Pearl River Outreach to love on the children we support.  I am also going to be able to visit with the foster moms...including Gracie's!!!!  How cool is that?!?!  When I started working with PRO, I never imagined it would bring me a new daughter, new friends and amazing opportunities like this one!  We're thinking it will be sometime in April.  I cannot wait to get dates because then it will be official!  I cannot wait to experience China without the stress/excitement of adopting.  Just me, my camera, and a couple of my BFF's....and, of course, some of the cutest children in all of China!!!  HEAVEN!!

We just had 16 days straight of rain here.  To say that we were about to lose our minds is an understatement!  In fact, Gracie even TP'd the bathroom at preschool with 2 entire rolls of toilet paper!!  SERIOUSLY!!!  I am going to blame it on being stuck inside for 16 days because surely, I would not have a child that would actually do that!!  RIGHT???  Lord, help me!!

Because of the weather, my camera has hardly come out of the bag.  I did snap a couple though:

Wearing our Team Ivy "Joy" shirts to support her as she had another heart surgery.  (She is doing great, by the way!!)

Our oldest girl.  Britney is 13 years old and is definitely showing her age.  She can't hear and can hardly see, but she's sweet as ever.

I love this shot of Wesleigh loving on her.

That's all I got.  Thankfully, the sun has been out for a couple of days and things are starting to dry out a little.  Maybe I'll get some gems to share with you soon :)

Happy Saturday!!

Such exciting news about your travel. I am sure that will be life changing as each trip you take to China is....

LOVE the shot of W and the dog. The weather has been terrible here too. Finally, we are seeing some sun but it is COLD!

So, glad the rain has stopped and ya'll are able to get outside! Looks like you will need to assist Miss Gracie in all public bathrooms...lol

Sweet pics of Wesleigh and your dog!! Nothing better than a 4 legged friend!

Have a great weekend!

I, too, am SO EXCITED for 2013!! :) We FINALLY get to move after 6 years of Coast Guard life in NYC and hopefully our little China girl will be home with us before the year is over. We're actually anxiously awaiting word from ASIA that one of the PRO girls are paper ready for adoption!

That's so awesome that you and Diana are going go over there to visit the PRO kids! Even more amazing that you will get to know Gracie's foster mother. :)

Yep, its gonna be a GREAT year!! :)

I have just fallen in LOVE, again....with that DOG! She looks sooo unbelievably sweet. I just wanna snuggle on the couch with her, too. Oh, and, of course, congrats on your opportunity in China. Sounds like a wonderful trip. Enjoy...and, blog a lot!

Oh wow!! So excited for you to go and help at PRO!! I love seeing the pics of the kids and I have followed along with Gracie and Janie in their forever families. I'm just a tad bit jealous! ;)

Brittanies are wonderful dogs anyway, and having grown up in your house... she has to be just a doll! (I am a dog person, 10 years as a dog trainer will do that to a person!) And yes, LOVE that picture of Wesleigh loving on her, just too sweet.

As far as the rain. It was making us and our dogs crazy too, but at least they got to go out and run around in it some. I can't imagine what that'll do to a little wild child girl! heh I love rain, but I'll be just happy if I don't see any for a few more months, just way too much for us.

Definitely looking forward to seeing pictures from China. What better people to go and give those babies some love! Congrats!

Love this post, love your pooch, love the idea of going back to just be present.

We adopted domestically, but our daughter is Mexican. I love the idea of taking her there, embracing her culture. She is only 3.5 but soon.

And Gracie TPing the bathroom at school- she reminds me so much of my firey chica. I love to read your blog and your honesty. After three boys this little girl has thrown me for a loop (an amazing one thought!!)
