Questions and Answers

I'm still working on our storry post. When you see how long it is, you'll understand why it's taking me so long.

So I thought, in the meantime, I would answer some questions and show you these hysterical pictures!

Wesleigh might be a priss pot, but she definitely shows the influence of her brothers sometimes. She found this play knife in the backyard the other day.

I wish you could hear the "arghhh" that go along with this face!

Then she bends down in this pose! I do not think she's seen that here. At least, I've never seen my boys do this. She stayed down like this for a few seconds. It looked like the perfect tai chi move!!

So....you have questions...Let's see....

1. What does W think about having a new sister? We have told her. She has seen pictures of Gracie and we tell her Gracie is her sister. I don't think she comprehends any of it. Maybe when we put the beds in her room it will become a little clearer. I don't think any child this young can comprehend how this is going to affect her life.

2. Are they going to share rooms? Yes. I am out of rooms! I am currently shopping for beds.

3. Who is going to China? Richard, Cade and I am going to China. I think Wesleigh is going to have a very hard time sharing me and I don't feel it's fair to Gracie to have to deal with Wesleigh's jealousy while Gracie is going through this major life change. There is also the issue of money. We're hoping to spend a little less this trip. Also, Bryce and Braden are older and missing 2 weeks of school, for them, would be a big deal. They will stay here with Wesleigh and my parents. They will be a HUGE help with her. On the other hand, after the boys were such a help last time, I can't go without one of them! Since Cade can still miss the school, he's in! Cade is thrilled. The other two, not so much, but they take their role with Wesleigh very seriously and understand the decision.

4. Where are we in the process? We are waiting for our 797C (immigration approval). This is the last piece of our dossier and we are hoping it might come next week. As soon as it does, our dossier will go to China and we will be in line for our LOA.

5. When do you think you'll travel? My best guess is Aug. or Sept. Who knows? There are so many steps, and it depends on how fast we get through each one.

6. How will Wesleigh do sharing the attention? Well.....this is going to be a HUGE adjustment for Miss W. I have to admit that I am a little sad for her. She doesn't even really like to share me with the boys. We are going to be working on that, but I think it's going to be hard for her. In the long run...so worth it!

7. How close are they in age? Wesleigh turned 3 on Feb. 12. Gracie will turn 3 on April 8.

That's all I remember. If there are more, ask away! Hope you all have a great weekend!! We are on the run, like always!

I still cant believe you are going to have virtual twins! I think Wesleigh is going to go a great job as Jie Jie. Its always an adjustment, but once she sees that built in playmate?! It'll be awesome. Are you ready for the stupid questions to commence when you're out, "Are they REAL sisters?!"

yep. As real as they get.

It's gonna be amazing. hang on!! Aug/Sep will be here before you know it.

Sara forgot to add, "Are they Twins!" I think I get that at least once a day when we are out! :)

You need to add to #5, August or September with my pal Di! :)

Come on 797 and LOA. We need to go to China!

Can't wait to celebrate Gracie's bday soon! I am partial to April girls!

Hugs,
Di

Jennifer, thanks so much for the kind words on my blog. i brought a photo of Wesley to China to see if I could have a dress made for Libbie. We carried it to Susan's today and Libbie saw the photo.... she has carried it around ALL day today and won't let it go. Tonight my husband showed her the photo and said "pretty girl" and Libbie repeated like a parrot.. 'pretty girl" Can't wait to follow you guys back to China. We love GUANGZHOU!

Thanks for answering all those questions! So excited for you and your family! I'm sure you're already planning these things....but make sure you set up lots of play dates for Wesleigh especially with sisters and keep pointing their relationship out, etc. Is she taking any classes where she has to share? Involve her in buying things for Gracie and keep talking about when Gracie joins her family. We definitely did not prepare our daughter enough for her new sister. Can't wait to see their room. Have a great weekend!

I have "twins" from around the world...one from Ethiopia, one from China. They are 6 months apart...and get this...we get the question...Are they twins?? all the time!!!! Seriously?? I mean, really?? ha ha... my hubby and I just look at each other and laugh!!!! Once the girls adjust to each other they will have a TOTAL blast! My girls have been together for 6 months now and are attached at the hip! It's an adjustment at first, but it'll be a miracle to watch unfolding before your eyes.

I have been sitting here reading all of your Gracie posts. LOVE IT!!!

BTW, our youngest son's file went on the shared system before we could lock too. I wasn't too worried since he was 5 and a boy, but still … I felt like you though, if the door opened, then I KNEW he was ours. He is now home asleep upstairs. :)))

Oh and I wanted to say our two youngest are 4 months apart, boy and girl, but both adopted and at first, it was R.O.U.G.H. Oh my. I was prepared but living it was so much harder than even what I expected. BUT, fast forward 8 months home, and they truly are really close and best friends. DD is a wee bit bossy (OK, very bossy), but DS is just so sweet and quiet and mostly ignores her when he doesn't want to do what she wants but he doesn't protest vocally, so it works LOL!

Anyway, I LOVE twinning them and have no regrets on it. Now I have wondered what it would be like to add another 5YO girl (virtual triplets?) and then think I must be certifiable. :) Oh and 5 is a wonderful number. I'm like you though, sometimes I look at my blog header and think, how in the world?! We went from 3 to 5 last summer and just 2.5 years ago we had just TWO children and now have FIVE!

God is great and I'm so glad He so clearly led you all to Gracie! She is adorable and you all are blessed to be on your way to bring her home!
