Shopping for a Girl...so Strange!

I have to say, shopping for a girl is SO strange! The clothes are hard because I'm unsure of Wesleigh's size and when we will be traveling. I don't want to buy a closet full of winter clothes if it will be spring by the time we get home. That will be solved soon enough. The toys, however, are REALLY weird. After being a boymom for 13 years, the pink isle is more than a little foreign to me. I ran to w*lmart today for a quick trip and ended up on the "pink isle". I don't even know where to begin. I am much more comfortable looking at legos and nerf guns ;)I'm sure I will get the hang of it before long ;).

I also got really tickled while I was looking at the movies. I picked up a couple of princess movies for Wesleigh's stocking, and couldn't help but laugh thinking of the boys watching them with her. My boys have never seen those movies. They haven't had a sister that wanted to watch them. When they watch movies in the car, it's usually The Dukes of Hazzard or something baseball. The thought of them sitting back there watching Tinkerbell just cracks me up! I can't wait!! I wonder how long it will take for them to go crazy ;) lol...

Ooohhh...I was the same way! I was definitely a little overwhelmed at first with trying to shop for a little girl. There are the bows, the tights, the cutesie socks and you know a girl can't just have one pair of brown shoes and one pair of black like boys can. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it though. The house, well that is a different story. I STILL haven't gotten used to all of the tiny bracelets, hairbows, barrettes I seem to find all over the place.

It's pretty sweet to see my boys playng "kitchen" with YouYou. They might pretend to not like it but I think they really do :)

I am still a bit overwhelmed with the girl stuff after 15 years of boys...but don't worry, you will ease into it!!

You will just love the way this little girl will change your men and the overall feel of your house...it really does!

Not sure how I found your blog but have followed quietly for sometime. I felt this same way after 4 boys and 12 years. It was wierd at first and really didn't get carried away until she was home. Now I really have to watch myself because I am always getting carried away. You will learn very quickly what to buy! And I totally agree with Denise, a girl really changes a house full of men....

My sister said this same thing for several years after her third (a daughter) was born. When M was born, her boys were five and eight.

Don't tell anyone but Will and H watched Tinkerbell AND I think they might come with us to the new princess movie coming out soon. It will be Kate's 1st movie. Have fun in the pink aisle!!!

It doesn't take long to get used to the pink section of the stores. I was so clueless when I started out too and I'm still getting into it all but it's SO fun!
