Two Little Letters

It's amazing what two little letters can do for the soul! The letters "PA" totally gave me the "pick me up" I needed! We have been "waiting" for 2 1/2 years, but this past month has been SOOOO hard! There's something about seeing that sweet little face that makes the wait unbearable. I also recieved an update a couple of weeks ago from Wesleigh's orphanage. That should have been very exciting, but her pictures showed that she had just cut her cheek pretty bad while running. She now has 3 stitches in her cheek. The most important thing about the whole incident was that she was "running" (although not very well apparently). There was a little concern over her ability to walk/run, but we don't think that is an issue at all anymore. It upset me pretty bad, though. To see her with the stitches is very upsetting. (So much so, that I'm just now posting about it). She will be fine, and there are much worse things that could have happened, but it's still upsetting.

So, I thought I'd share a little of what I've been doing. What I should be doing is decorating for Richard's company party that is here Saturday (yes, THIS Saturday). Ask me if I have a tree yet? Ask me if I really care? The answers are nope and nope!! It will all come together in time.

Anyway. what I have been doing is getting things ready for a care package I will be able to send when I get my LOA. One of the items is a super soft ladybug blanket. I decided a few nights ago that I was going to sleep with it until I sent it. I know they say to do that with newborns to help them sleep. I don' t know if there will be any scent on it by the time it gets to China, but I figure it can't hurt, and maybe it will help her be a little familiar with me. If not, it at least, makes me feel like I'm doing something. Last night, Richard decided he needed to sleep with the pink ladybug blanket. I have to say, I can't think of anything sweeter than seeing my 6ft. husband sleeping with a pink ladybug blanket wrapped around him! I think Wesleigh already has him wrapped around her little finger! I didn't get up and take a picture of Richard, but I'm including a pic of the blanket.

I also made her this bow hanger. You can see that bows will be a MAJOR part of her wardrobe. I was a big bow-head when I was younger, and down here, the bigger the bow, the better. I love it!!! Of course, Wesleigh has NO hair, so headband will be very important.

I have also been picking up some clothes for Miss Wesleigh. Fortunately, I have NOTHING, so I have LOTS of shopping to do!! Since we don't know when we'll be traveling yet, and our winters here are so short, I'm trying to buy things that can be layered and worn in the cold weather in China and also here where it's warmer.

I'm praying our wait to LOA is super short. I can post her picture when it comes!!

Looks like you've been busy! I love the bow holder. I have to ask, did you get the stuff at hobby lobby? I made my daughter one too with a hot pink wire flower they had. Just attached ribbon and some butterflies at the end of the ribbon. :)
