We Finally Did It

On October 6th, it will be 28 months since we were logged-in to China. That is a LONG pregnancy! Last night, we finally made the jump to the special needs program! I submitted our application. Richard looked at me in church yesterday and said, "We need to go on and get that application in". I looked at him like he was crazy because he said it so matter-of-fact. Of course, I started crying and submitted the application as soon as I could, just in case he might change his mind! I can't wait to see how all this plays out! Pray that we have wisdom and direction to be able to make the right decisions.

I will pray for you. I truly believe that going SN is the best/if only way to bring a child out of China right now. Unless your LID is just about to be called.
I am here if you need someone to talk to along the way.

Congratulations!! We are just starting the China process and have our first social worker visit on Friday for the homestudy...so exciting (but also a little scary) We have talked about the special needs route...but for now are just following the route we started with.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Oh, Jennifer! Your daughter's biggest special need will be the fact that she NEEDS a Mom and a Dad - YOU :)

What an amazing addition to your journey! I know that God will guide you to your daughter and no matter what - she will be the one that HE had planned for you!

Also want to say Congratulations! Sometimes the daddys are the last on board with that decision...the same thing happened in our circumstance. Our original LID was Nov 06 and we changed our request to adopt a SN boy or girl 18 mos. ago. 2 months after we made the request we had a referral. I wish you only the best, would be happy to help in any way if you have questions of any kind. Will's been home with us a little over a year.

I don't know if heart issues are a SN that are on your list, but if the time comes and you need to talk to someone about this need, I am available. My email address (I think you have this already but just in case) is ericaterryhammond@hotmail.com.

I'm excited for you! I remember the days of deciding whether or not to go SN (summer of 2006). There were many fears but once we made the decision to go ahead, the fears were gone and excitement to see where God would take us replaced it. And he brought us Allison! :-)

Great news! I pray you will find your daughter soon. Our 2nd daughter was found on a SN list and is such a joy and blessing in our lives! If you haven't read it, there is wonderful information as well as uplifting and encouraging stories on the www.nohandsbutours.com website (Ella's story is there too!).

God bless you on this new and exciting journey you're on!

That is wonderful news!! Both of our girls were adopted through the waiting child program before the wait was like it is now. Wait or no wait, that is the only way I would adopt from China. I also want to let you know that my husband was hesitant with this in the beginning, too. It always takes the guys a little longer, doesn't it? : )

God has known who your daughter is way before you even thought about adoption and He will make sure she comes home to you!

So excited for you!!!
