Maybe He'll Grow

Braden is my "scrawny" kid. He is tall, but he is so skinny, you can literally count his ribs. He is a super picky eater too which drives me crazy. Tonight, I guess he decided to eat for the whole week. He came home and had some chips and an apple. Then for supper, he had 3 pork chops, strawberries, and 2 pieces of raisin toast. I know, strange combo, but Richard wasn't home so we were winging it ;) After he ate all that, he was still complaining about how hungry he was. I finally let him make 2 packets of grits and he ate the whole thing! Right before bed he said he was STILL hungry and begging me for food. I ended up letting him have a granola bar and then sent him to bed. Maybe he'll put some meat on his ribs tonight :)

My son is 15 and he grows the same way. He is now taller than me and still very thin. No more ribs showing, though. It kind of bothers him now...but eventually he will stop growing upward and start filling out. : )

Your blog looks GREAT!!!!

that is funny. sometimes i wonder how our kids live. Owen eats more than me daily but he is adhd so he can eat that much and stays thin. Ethan on the other hand eats hardly anything for weeks and then all of a sudden will eat his body weight in food in a day. it is crazy. he is not skinny-- but lean but also really heavy. I have no idea how he keeps weight on with how little he eats on a regular basis--strange...

That'll put some meat on his bones :)

Caleb is tall and skinny also. Hubby can put his hands around Caleb's waist he's so small!

Maybe a growth spurt is arriving. Grace is a skinny minny too, she just gets taller. It's so hard to find pants that fit her properly. And she eats sporatically and odd combinations.

It's starting!

That sounds like a normal day for my 17 year old. Get used to it!

We are going through the same thing at our house. There have been days when I have made the boys 4 different snacks BEFORE dinner! It's non-stop eating! The problem is that I still have to fix it all. They are not old enough to do that yet! UGH! But I do have a skinny-mini too...6 years old, 95% for height, but only 40 pounds...he NEEDS to eat.

What a good looking boy! Sounds to me like your grocery bill is going to start increasing! Better watch out, before too long he is going to have some meat on those bones!

Okay---I have actually seen these boys and NONE of them are scrawny compared to my boys. That IS a lot of food though....maybe it's a growth spurt coming on?
