It's a Bryce Weekend

This week has been very full. Trying to be organized about everything, succeeding some of the time, and not others. The most exciting part of this week is that Bryce was chosen to play with the Parish wide jr. high honor band. We are so proud of him, especially since he has only played the french horn for about 4 months. They practiced Thursday, Friday and this morning and then had the concert this afternoon. Talk about cramming it in! Of course, they were great. I know this picture is awful, but I was so far back and the lighting was really bad. Oh, well, at least he's smiling.
Bryce is the only boy here tonight, so I let him ask a couple of his friends to spend the night. They were all in honor band together. At the moment, I am thanking God that I designed this house like I did. Here is what is going on upstairs. If you don't know what it is, it is the game Rockb*nd. It is NOT quiet. I don't mind a bit because...

This is what is under the upstairs:

They can rock out all night and I can sleep like a baby on the other side of the house.
Work is getting better. I have found ways to keep myself busy during the day. I have been grading papers for Cade's teacher, and starting to work on the auction. The auction is my baby, and I did not want to give it all away. It looks like I am going to be able to "delegate" the parts of the auction that I don't like to do, and still do the parts that I love.
I'm working on laundry, and trying to finish a book I'm reading. It's called "The Memory Keeper's Daughter". It has kept my interest and I can't wait to finish it, but I wouldn't say it's great. I have seen you all talk about books you have been reading, but I am never organized enough to actually write them down. If you have read a book that you really enjoyed, please let me know what it is. It helps me pass the time at school too.

That's awesome that Bryce was chosen for the band! What an honor!

I'm interested to know what kind of auction you are in charge of. Perhaps I might have something to donate to the cause.

I am a lover of books. I have read The Memory Keepers Daughter & like you, it was not one of my favorites. I do have a couple of suggestions for you: The Wednesday Letters (my all time favorite) & Christmas Jars. They are both by Jason Wright.

Enjoy your weekend!

It was nice to see Bryce smiling so big!!! You must be very proud!

I am going to be checking back to see more book suggestions; I love a tried & tested book!!

We still don't have rockband, and it is probably a good thing cause our house is tiny & no where is quiet!!!

Hey Jennifer,

Too funny about the rockin'out! My Nolan is the same...and they are LOUD! Anyway, congrats to Bryce! How cool is that!

Hey, I'm sorry I forgot to get back to you about that picture you scanned and sent me. YES, that little bit did favor Macy Li! Isn't that so funny. You never know...there could be a relation somewhere! We'll never know. I still think ML looks like the little 3peanuts girl and they're both from near Nanchang.

Well, I ordered one of those shirts and it came in yesterday! :) Thanks for the info. Now, I just hope I look as "cool" of a mom in mine and you do! :)

Tell Bryce that's an awesome honor! Way to go!

Have a great week!

The last book I read that I enjoyed was "The Girls". It's a book about a set of conjoined twins and their life together. Complete fiction.

Jennifer,

I am so intrigued by our observation about how much more you are getting done. Some of the most organized bloggers (Lisa and Jodee) both work too so I am thinking you are onto something. Maybe I need a job!

I am glad Rock Band did not keep you awake:)

Congratulations to Bryce! Your boys are all so special.

That was very smart to put their hangout room over the garage! Hope you enjoyed your peaceful evening.

How awesome for Bryce! I am reading the book, "Waking the dead" by Robert Eldredge and it is really a wonderful book so far about the spiritual heart.

Good Job Bryce!
We just have Guitar Hero here. It's so funny to watch Eli pretend to play.
Hope your job keeps getting better and better.

Hey Jennifer,

I remember reading about your house fire.....there is another bloggy lady who just lost her house to fire yesterday. You've probably read about her already, but I thought you might want to reach out to her.
