Cure For The Common Procrastinator...

Get a job!! Yes, it's true, in the past my unspoken motto was, "why do today what you can put off 'till tomorrow". Actually, it has worked just fine for me...'till now. Now that I am working during the day (and only until 3:30), I have had to completely adjust my entire way of thinking. Gone are the days of putting W*lmart off - just one more day, or worrying about what we'll eat for supper when the time comes, or deciding that the bathroom isn't "that dirty" and can wait at least another day. I have become the anti-procrastinator. I have found myself making my whole family come with me to W*lmart because, well, misery loves company, and if I have to go on the weekend, so does everyone else! I have planned meals and cooked parts of meals during the weekend for quick assembly during the week. I have also made sure that everything was clean before the week started. Surely, I must have been more like this when the boys were young and I was home with them all day, but honestly, I'm thinking those were the days that nothing ever got done...ever.

I think the saying "busy people get things done" might be true. I do feel like I have gotten more done. I don't know if that's actually true or if it's that the time I've done them in has been compressed. Either way, I'm much busier. Don't you think I should be losing a little weight with this "busyness"? I sure hope so!

Hope you're all having a great week!

Oh how I wish I were organized enough to make and freeze meals! Organization is not a tool that I possess right now. I love the "misery loves company" idea though. Think I'll drag everyone with me next time I go to Walmart :)

Hope you're having a great week!

Glad your new job is working for you...I will be there in a few years. All of the kids with me in Walmart though, I don't think so!!!

I tend to drag Mallory and Ron to Walmart with me too! LOL! I just dread going in that store period! You don't need to lose weight but just incase you do, let me know. I will have to get a job because as of now, I am not losing any and I need to!!!!. Ha!

I know for myself, when I work outside the home...I get really organized with the rest of my life. I'll be going back someday too when my youngest is in school.

Enjoy your week!

I agree! When I am in working and totally busy I am way more productive. When I am off all summer long I am a total bump on a log and put things off for weeks. It is so pitiful but I totally agree when you are busy, you are more productive!!

I try to be a go-getter but at times I know that I'm not. When school is in session I often feel like I am doing the whole "Ground Hog Day" thing where I am just repeating the same thing each & every day.

Getting rid of clutter & doing today what I would have put off until tomorrow are two of my goals for the new year!

By the way, I'm home from school today with a snow day! I think I could get used to working one day a week!!!!

I think busy and organized do go hand and hand. And, you are fine the way you are (you don't need to lose any weight)!

I feel your pain. I only work three days a week, but everything is streamlined in our house. I have to plan every shopping trip, etc. to get things done. UGH! It will start driving you nuts when your routine gets disrupted too!

No matter what happens, I always hope weight loss will come with it!

Girl, it sounds like you've got things under control, yeah! There's a saying that goes something like a job expands to fill the time allotted to it...or something like that. I get things done quicker now than I did with one child. I was even more overwhelmed with two than I am with four (we'll see what happens with seven!). BTW, the "wink" in the previous post is absolutely adorable!! At least he listened, right? ha!

I am definitely the kind of person who works better under pressure. And I get way more done when I have several balls in the air. I am glad your new job is working out for you. Next year is my year. I plan on working at Linzi's school when she starts kindergarten. A small part of me is actually looking forward to it. And the best part is we will all come home to a clean house at the end of the day!
