Yea!! My big project for the year is over! I really enjoy our school's auction, but this year it seemed to be especially consuming. Maybe it's because I also have 3 baseball teams going at the same time, as well. Here is a picture of the week before the auction.
This was only about 1/3 of the "stuff" we had to go in the auction. There were other piles just like this. Here's a picture of the actual silent auction:
This is before everyone showed up and started fighting over, I mean bidding on, everything.
It was so much fun, but it is SO much work. We stayed up at the school until 11:00 the night before setting everything up. Last year, we made right at $15,000. This year, I think we will finish out at about $16 or $17,000. All of this money goes toward technology in the classrooms. So worth it, in the end. I'm just glad I have plenty of time before it's time to get ready for the next one! Can you believe, someone asked me if I would be in charge of Teacher Appreciation week? While I was in the middle of the auction!! Yeah, I don't think so!!!
So, today, I spent my time trying to get some of the things I have neglected for the past couple of weeks done - Walmart included. Tonight, Richard and my parents are all out of town. Cade has two baseball games on one side of town, and Bryce has his first game on the other side. I am sending Cade with a friend, but I hate to do that. I want to see them all!!
Have a great week!

Jennifer,
I was SO there just a few years ago! Enjoy these years--soon they'll be driving themselves to their activities and you'll miss these days.
Great job on the auction! I can see why they wanted you to do Teacher Appreciation Week! (but also why you don't want to do it!)
