Cade is Six!!!

Well, it has happened. My baby has turned SIX!! I can't believe it. He is so excited about his birthday today. We had a little family party for him yesterday, and will have his friends party next weekend. (It had to fit around baseball!) He got a gameboy like his brothers. He thinks he's hot stuff.

Quote of the day

On the way home from school we were talking about the new house. Somehow Cade starts talking about our present house. He said "That's Daddy's house. He's the boss. He bought that house." But then he said, "But you own us Mommy". I thought about it for a second and then decided that I got the better end of the deal!

Making Progress

Wow! Yesterday was such a productive adoption day! Richard was able to get his birth certificate, and apply for his passport. We also had our immigration fingerprint appointment in New Orleans yesterday. All went well, so it looks like all we have left to do is the photo pages while we wait for the passports and the I171H from immigration. YEAH!! It will be so exciting to get this phase over with. After all that, we ended the day with a little -what else- Baseball!! It was a great day.

In Case You Wondered

In case you were wondering where the title "Baseballs to Bows" came from, I'm about to give you a peek at what close to half of our year consists of. Braden kicked off baseball season for our family. All the boys have been practicing for a while, but today marked our first games. We were at the ballpark from 9:00 to 1:30. There is no place Braden would rather be. Actually, it's at the top of my list too! It was the perfect day for some baseball.
Braden loves baseball so much that he gets VERY upset anytime he makes a mistake. If he gets out, he comes back to the dugout with tears streaming down his face. It is so pitiful. He just wants to be the "hero" so badly that he can't hide his disappointment when something doesn't go quite right. As hard as it is to watch, it's that love of the game that makes him so good, and makes it SO much fun to watch when things go good.
So, there is the motivation for the first half of the name. The second half won't be here for quite some time. China baby promises to bring some much needed pink and many new bows into this family, but we sure hope she likes baseball as well!!!!

Could it be?

Could it be? Could we actually be getting ready to put something on this empty lot? I'll believe it when I see it, but I know we're getting close. We are all very ready to start, if only so we can stop predicting when the start date will be!

Richard and I went for our Dossier physicals today. It's always so much fun to get pricked in both arms and pee in a cup! I am trusting that everything will turn out fine, and we'll be that much closer to finishing our Dossier. We have our fingerprint appt. next Tuesday, and our home study is done, so we're getting there!

Other than that, it's been business as usual at the Doughty house. School and baseball. We have a practice every night of the week (except Wed.) for at least one Doughty boy. The games start Sat., so we're on our way to a very busy spring. Wouldn't have it any other way. The boys get report cards this week so that means there is only 9 more weeks of school! YIKES!! I love my boys, but NINE WEEKS!!! I am ready to be able to sleep late and summers do bring that, so it's all good.
